License

I sell and provide for free, select themes and templates that contain a specific license which are outlined below. However, for my WordPress themes, I've adopted full GPL license guidelines.
In separate, I am also an exclusive template author at Theme Forest, and have adopted their license terms for Joomla items I sell from Gradient Pixels. This lets me maintain consistent terms of use between items I sell on Theme Forest and those I sell here (with exception to my WordPress themes which are fully GPL compliant). Please note that any part that is licensed under the GPL, such as Joomla source code can be freely redistributed without restrictions. To read more about about the GNU General Public License (GPL), click here.
WordPress Themes - Full GNU/GPL License
All my WordPress themes, both commercially priced and free, are licensed under the GNU general public license. This means that my themes may be used on as many websites as you like and have no restrictions.
Joomla Templates - Regular License
The Regular License grants you, the Purchaser a non-exclusive, non-transferrable right to make use of the work that you acquire (Work).
Your use of the Work, under the Regular License, is subject to the following conditions:
- Your use of the Work is limited to a single application.
- You may use the Work alone or you may incorporate the Work into another work you are creating.
- Unless you have our prior written consent, you must not directly or indirectly license, sub-license, sell or resell or provide for free the Work or offer to do any of these things. All of these things are referred to as RESALE.
- You may use the Work in a work which you are creating for your own purposes or for your client (singular) who has asked you to create it.
- You must not incorporate the Work in a work which is created for Resale by you or your client.
- If you acquire the Work on behalf of your client you may recoup from your client the cost of acquiring the Work.
- If the whole, or part, of the Work has been created using materials which are the subject of a GNU General Public License (GPL), your use of the Work (or part Work) is subject to the specific terms of the GPL in place of the foregoing conditions (to the extent the GPL applies). For example, any part that is licensed under the GPL, you can freely distribute this without restrictions.
In Simple Terms - What you can do
The regular license allows you to use an item within a "single" project of your own or on behalf of a client. For example, you could use a template purchased under a regular license in one website. For web content a regular license is suitable for use on a single domain or single subdomain or single directory. For most buyers the regular license is sufficient. For any part that is subject to the GPL license, such as the Joomla core files, you can freely reuse and redistribute it.
In Simple Terms - What you CANNOT do
The main thing you CANNOT do is offer the item up for resale either on its own or as part of a project. You can use the item in a website for yourself or for your client's website, but not in a web template that you resell or redistribute freely. If you want to do this, you need the Extended License.
Joomla Templates - Extended License
The Extended License grants you, the Purchaser, a non-exclusive, non-transferrable right to make use of the work you acquire (Work).
Your use of the Work, under the Extended License, is subject to the following conditions:
- Your use of the Work is limited to a single application.
- You may use the Work alone or you may incorporate the Work into another work you are creating.
- Unless you have our prior written consent, you must not directly or indirectly license, sub-license, sell or resell or provide for free the Work or offer to do any of these things unless the Work is incorporated into a work you have created. All of these things are referred to as Resale.
- You may use the Work in a work which you are creating for your own purposes or for your client who has asked you to create it.
- You may incorporate the Work in a work which is created for Resale by you or your client (provided that only the complete work is offered for sale and the terms of sale (i) require those that acquire the work to only use the Work for their own personal use or in a work they are creating for a client (ii) prohibit resale of the Work as a stand-alone item).
- You may display the Work, and make the Work available for use by an unlimited number of your clients, in conjunction with a web site service that you host on behalf of your clients. When using the Work through a web site service, you may make unlimited copies of the Work but you must procure that your clients do not reproduce or use the Work in another application.
- If the Work is used or incorporated in a work there is no restriction on the number of copies of that work that can be reproduced and distributed.
For example: you may incorporate the Work, such as a music file, in a sound mixing software program that you or your client distributes commercially. An unlimited number of copies of the software program may be made and sold but the Work cannot be incorporated in more than one software program or other work. Additionally, buyers of the software program must not offer the Work (that is the music file) for sale, such as on a site like AudioJungle.net .
- Notwithstanding the restriction on Resale, if you acquire the Work on behalf of your client you may recoup from your client the cost of acquiring the Work.
In Simple Terms - What you can do
This license is more expensive than the regular license. An extended license lets you use an item in something that will be sold. For example, you could use an item purchased under an extended license for a template to be sold. An extended license is also appropriate for people looking to offer a web template to many users such as on multiple domains, subdomains or sub directories.
In Simple Terms - What you CANNOT do
An extended license does NOT allow you to resell the item by itself. You may only incorporate the item into a larger work that is then sold. The original item will always remain the property of the original author and all copyright notices must stay within the file source code and license file.

Your use of this website is based on your acceptance for the following terms of use:
Pricing, Refunds, and Item Changes
Gradient Pixels reserves the right to make price changes to any item or membership available from this website without notice.
Since Gradient Pixels is offering non-tangible goods we do not issue refunds after the Item or membership purchase is made. You are responsible for understanding this upon buying and/or registering at Gradient Pixels. If you encounter any product bugs or issues directly resulting from the item purchased and not from third party items, either separate or in part, I will help find a solution for you. The exception of these terms is if I am unable to solve the issues resulting from my own product, a 100% refund will then be approved with the understanding the item will no longer be used by the customer and must be deleted.
Item transactions are not transferrable for an alternate choice once the purchase has gone through or downloaded. For example, if you purchase a theme or template, download it, then request a change for an alternate item, you will need to purchase the other item or service as a separate transaction. Refunds are not applicable if an item has been downloaded.

About Gradient Pixels

Gradient Pixels is about designing real world concepts for both individuals and businesses who feel confidence in knowing the themes they download from me are created for those who are serious about their website or blog. In addition to my stylish designs, I am here to help you build your website with tutorials and valuable tips & tricks to guide you through the process when using my themes.
You will find that my design technique is more of a minimalist style which includes a nice clean and professional approach to visual creativity. I believe that themes should not be loaded down with excessive scripts, css, or built-in plugins and extensions that will only slow down your website, or worse, creating the potential for something going wrong. Keeping it simple makes a theme run smooth and looking good with quality coding and faster load times.
I primarily focus on the award winning Joomla! cms, but I also work with the ever popular blogging platform called WordPress. So if you like what you read here, feel free to explore the site and try out a theme or template!. If you need a custom theme or template, you are welcome to submit a request for your own unique design.
